FAQ FRIDAY 2/13/26

A hand‑crocheted cotton soap saver is easy to care for and built to last with just a little TLC.
After each use:
• Give it a quick rinse to remove excess suds.
• Hang it up or lay it somewhere it can dry completely between showers. Good airflow keeps it fresh.
Every week or two:
• Toss it in with your regular laundry or hand‑wash it in warm, soapy water.
• Let it air dry—cotton loves a good breeze.
When it’s time for a refresh:
• If it starts to feel stretched or tired, a quick wash usually brings it right back.
And when it’s finally at the end of its life, it’s fully biodegradable.

Shop Update.

I've reopened my Etsy shop after taking some time away due to a death in the family. Times like these remind me how grateful I am for God's grace. Thank you for your kindness, your patience and your continued support of my handmade work.
I'm back at the cutting board and happy to be creating again.

FAQ FRIDAY 02/06/26

A soap saver is a little hand‑crocheted cotton pouch designed to help your handmade bar soap last longer and lather beautifully. It also increases the aromatherapy of your favorite soap. To use as a washcloth, simply slip your bar (or those tiny leftover pieces) inside, wet it, and enjoy a rich, creamy lather with a touch of gentle exfoliation. These little soap saver bags help you to use every last bit of your bar – nothing wasted, everything cozy inside and you never drop your soap again!

I crochet each one by hand, so every bag has its own personality and charm. I'm currently working on some fun spring-colored ones. Keep an eye out for those!

FAQ FRIDAY 1/30/26

I don't have goats here at The Nest — maybe one day. 😉 I get my fresh goat's milk from an Amish farm owned by a young family down in southern Somerset County, PA. Supporting a local family farm means a lot to me. I enjoy seeing the progress Daniel and Lillian are making on their farm. They've recently added a cut-flower greenhouse and now sell fresh flowers to local florists. I can hardly wait to tour it when the flowers are blooming! 💐🌸🌷

FAQ FRIDAY 1/23/26

Fresh goat’s milk is what sets my soap apart. I use it straight from the source — never powdered or diluted — every bar keeps the natural creaminess and vitamins that make goat’s milk so gentle on sensitive and mature skin. When it’s blended with my specially formulated recipe of nourishing oils, colloidal oats, and shea butter, the result is a rich, comforting lather that cleanses without stripping your skin.

🌿Why It Matters: Your skin gets a naturally moisturizing, soothing bar that supports its barrier instead of drying it out — especially important for anyone with sensitive, mature, or easily irritated skin.

* Sorry this post is late. I had to leave The Nest unexpectedly last week and was unable to post. I hope to be back on schedule tomorrow.

New Series: FAQ FRIDAY

New year, new things. I've been working on something special behind the scenes, and I'm happy to finally share it with you!
Starting next Friday, I'm beginning a brand‑new weekly series called FAQ FRIDAY — a cozy, educational corner of my page where I’ll answer your most common questions about my handmade soaps and my hand‑crocheted cotton soap savers.
Every Friday, you’ll see a new question featured, and I’ll share the answer in the caption — simple, honest, and straight from The Nest.
Here’s a peek at some of the questions coming your way:
🌿 “What makes your goat's milk soap different?”
I’ll share why I use fresh goat’s milk and how it creates a creamy, nourishing lather.
🌿 “Is your soap good for sensitive skin?”
I’ll talk about gentle oils, carefully selected add-ins, and why handmade soap is such a comfort.
🌿 “What is a soap saver, and how do I use it?”
You’ll learn how my hand‑crocheted cotton pouches help your bars last longer.
🌿 "How do I care for my cotton soap saver?”
I’ll walk you through simple washing and drying tips to keep it fresh.
And so many more.
My goal is to help you feel confident, informed, and inspired every time you choose a bar from The Robin’s Nest Soaps — whether it’s for your home, your skin, or a gift for someone you love.
